LOCATION:
West-north of Gartz, between Gartz and Tantow, at km 715, about 4 km west of the Odra.
AREA:
DESCRIPTION:
A vast, about 4 km long area in the valley of stream Salveybach and its tributary Gesower Bach. It comprises a mosaic of semi-natural biotops with grassland communities, reeds and ash-alder forests. On the steep valley slopes and the attendant moraine hills, developed different thermophilous communities (grasslands, tall herb fringes and thermophilous oak woods).
HABITATS:
Streamside vegetation, ash-alder forests, eutrophic and thermophilous tall herb fringes, thermophilous oak woods (Potentillo albae-Quercetum).
OTHER ANIMAL SPECIES (HD II):
Misgurnus fossilis, Bombina bombina, Triturus cristatus, Lutra lutra.
COMMENTS:
The area within the confines of the Protected Landscape Area (Landschaftsschuzgebiete) "Salveytal", a nature reserve of the same name is projected (Naturschutzgebiete no 1020).
