By the village Geesow, at km 716, approximately 3 km west of the Odra.

AREA:

81,82 ha.

DESCRIPTION:

The area brought into existence for the protection of xerophile Central European Stipa steppic grasslands (Potentillo-Stipetum capillatae), the plant association of continental origin, which has been of the EC interest and is of an utmost importance. There are its westmost stations on the Odra.

HABITATS:

Xerophile Stipa steppic grasslands, thermophilous thickets in a type of thermophilous oak woods.

COMMENTS:

Protected as nature reserve (“Trockenrasen Geesow, Naturschuzgebiet no 1159).
