7. The Mouth of Nysa and Stobrawa rivers

AREA:
LOCATION:
The area beginning in the Odra valley along km 176-190, past the mouth of the Stobrawa into the Odra, together with the fragments of these rivers lying by the mouth.
AREA:
DESCRIPTION:
It includes mainly the Odra river terrace between the dikes and the lowest part of Nysa Kłodzka valley, up to 2 km south of the mouth. The area displays a large mosaic of diverse habitats, which - as a rule - appear in the form of small pieces and are connected by numerous transitional biotopes.
HABITATS:
Elm-ash forests, meso-eutrophic oak-hornbeam forests, willow-poplar gallery forests, reeds and sedges from the Phragmitetea class, lowland hay meadows (Alopecurus pratensis) and floodplain grasslands (Molinion), eutrophic lakes (oxbow lakes).
BIRDS (BD):
Dendrocopos medius, Milvus migrans, Ciconia nigra, Gallinago gallinago, Alcedo atthis, Haliaeetus albicilla.
FISH:
Misgurnus fossilis (HD II), Barbus barbus (HD V), Silurus glanis (KB III), Alburnoides bipunctatus (KB III).
PLANTS:
Trapa natans (KB I), Salvinia natans (KB I), Galanthus nivalis (HD V).
COMMENTS:
It is included in a broadly-understood important bird area of the European rank. (E-IBAE Poland 053).
