25. Łęgi Nowosolskie (Nowa Sól Riverine Forests)

DESCRIPTION:
The refuge comprises two meadow complexes: meadows south of the Siedlisko village, between the forest and the enbankment on the left side of the Odra (approximately 10 ha.) and the meadows between Tarnów Bycki and Bytom Odrzański (the left bank of the Odra, approximately 20 ha.). The complex of forest communities (riverine forests and oak-hornbeam forests) covering the area about 36 km along the Odra valley (along km 415-445) between Bytom and Przyborów is considered to be the biggest refuge’s value.
HABITATS:
On the terrace - riverine elm-ash forests Ficario-Ulmetum - 44.41, occasionally also willow-poplar gallery forests Salici albae-Populetum - 44.132 and their regenerative stages - 44.13. Outside dikes also oak-hornbeam forests, especially huge area (about 200 ha.) between Przyborów and Nowa Sól arround one of the best preserved old riverbeds (oxbow lakes) of the Odra (so called "Odrzysko"). In the northern part of the refuge (from Stany to Buków) its area is limited tothe terrace of the Odra river within the dikeswhich are about 500-1000 m wide. In the local deforested depressions - sedge and reed communities Magnocaricion - 53.21 and Phragmition - 53.1, higher - communities of unfertilized grasslands with fluctuating water level (Molinion - 37.31), and lowland hay meadows (Arrhenatherion - 32.8) and intensively managed pastures.

Haliaeetus albicilla, Dendrocopos medius, Milvus milvus, Milvus migrans, Alcedo atthis, Gallinago gallinago.
OTHER ANIMAL SPECIES:
Misgurnus fossilis (HD II), Barbus barbus (HD V), Silurus glanis (KB III).
